Tough Travels – Disguises

Each Thursday, inspired by ‘The Tough Guide to Fantasyland’ we have in hand, we shall tour the mystical countryside looking for adventure and fun (and tropes) from all over fantasy.

This week’s topic is DISGUISES

Hiding in plain site?  Put on a disguise.  Often used to sneak into the evil lair.  For best results brain a guard and steal his; no one is tracking these things.

Be honest now.  Who else thought of this first?

Anyway.  Another one of those weeks.  So have a short passage from JINGO, in which the classic plan for using disguises is actually put to the test.

“Just run all that past me again, will you?” he said.

“We find a couple of blokes about our height and weight–”

“We did that.”

“We lure them into this alley–”

“We did that.”

“I take a swing at them with a length of wood and hit you by accident in the dark and they get angry and turn out to be thieves and nick all of our cloths.”

Join us next week as we look at ORPHANS

No one in Fantasyland amounts to anything if they still have both parents.  Rule number one.  Thanks to Stephanie for the suggestion (and let us all be surprised together that it isn’t in the Tough Guide).

And yes, I STILL NEED MORE TOPICS.  I got a ton of great ideas to fill this list but I wants more.

If you have a topic you want to see us cover, or if you have an entry for next week’s post but don’t have your own blog to put it on, please head over to the main Tough Traveling page and fill out the form at the bottom.

As always thanks for joining, feel free to join along at any time, and please check out my fellow travelers!
